I BET NO ONE TOLD YOU THIS…

Becoming a Mom is incredible, but it’s definitely not like the movies depict it! Recovery from childbirth can be difficult, and not just physically.  No one prepares you for the combination of physical and emotional challenges of birth recovery.  And let’s be honest…a 6 week “check up” just isn’t enough.

MAYBE YOU’VE FOUND YOURSELF

Experiencing bladder and bowel leaks

Are you avoiding jumping or taking long car rides? Are you afraid to laugh, cough, or even sneeze? It's not normal to leak, whether it's just a little bit or soaking through your clothes.

Having difficulty resuming intimacy due to pain, lack of desire or just simply feeling exhausted all the time

Are you feeling pain or detachment during intimate moments? Do you feel disconnected from your body and struggle to feel desire? Even the mere thought of touch or penetration may cause pain signals. Getting the green light to resume at the 6 week postpartum appointment is daunting.

Feeling disconnected from your body and nervous about exercising again

Transition from birth and newborn stage to the active and confidently strong woman you were before. Strengthening your core and pelvic floor to continue to participate in activities that make you feel good with no pain or limitations.

Tightness in your neck, stiffness in your low back, and pain in your hips all throughout the day

Did you ever consider how much you sit during your early postpartum days? Finding yourself in a nurturing position, rounding your shoulders and always bent over staring, feeding or cleaning your sweet baby can take a toll on your neck and back. Trying to return to exercise or sitting for work for longer periods but feeling like even sitting is causing discomfort, this can be your neck, back or hips as a result from a changing body during pregnancy or postpartum.

Struggling to balance being a new Mom with feeling overwhelmed at fitting everything in

Being a mom is rewarding, but something happens after that baby is born, somehow mom is forgotten about. Struggling to find yourself physically or emotionally adds to the pressures of motherhood. Being the best you can be in order to take care of your baby can feel overwhelming. Co-regulation helps you feel a supported calm allowing a dyad or unit to feel each other and be in a space of calm throughout their whole body and being.

At Nurtured Pelvic Health & Wellness, we believe in THRIVING, not just surviving after childbirth.  Here’s how we help:

Eliminate leaking naturally

Your pelvic floor is like any other muscle in your body.  It needs to be able to move over a range of motion.  Most leaking is resolved after we work on restoring your pelvic floor’s natural range of motion.

Empower your motherhood journey

Feel complete in your journey through building confidence and purpose in motherhood. Ensuring your understanding of development, play and feeding necessary to connect with your little one and allowing them to reach their full potential

Feel like yourself again

Being a Mom takes its toll physically and emotionally.  We know that the answer isn’t to just give you a set of exercises and send you on your way.  We work with you on strategies to move pain-free, feel less overwhelmed, and more confident in your new role.  And we do it in a way that fits into YOUR lifestyle.

About Us

I know first hand how difficult navigating the post-partum world can be.  During my pregnancies, I felt tied down to the medical system, always running to an appointment, not knowing what to expect or what would be checked. It felt like I was constantly surrounded by some type of medical professional, but constantly feeling like I wasn’t seen or heard.

The day had come to welcome my little babies. The hospital and Labor and Delivery was buzzing with activity. There were tons of people coming in and out, checking me, touching me, telling me what to do.

Fast forward to having my little baby and then, poof, that support, all the people, seemed to have disappeared.  I remember my OB coming in and saying congratulations after the birth and then smirking and saying, “well that was a fun go, this may feel like a bad breakup. See you in 6 weeks.”

Then at my 6 week check-up my doctor gave me the “all clear” after about 5 minutes and then I was sent on my way.

Except, I knew in my body that things weren’t “all clear.”

I was told to just “give it time” and to do some Kegels (sound familiar?).

But, being in the healthcare field myself, I knew instinctively this wasn’t the answer. There had to be a better way.  There had to be better support for Moms.  There had to be a way to not just survive being post-partum but THRIVE being post-partum.

And I quickly discovered that I wasn’t alone.  Many Moms felt this way.

So, I made it my life’s mission to become a pelvic floor therapist who could provide the type of support, guidance, and holistic lens that I felt was missing.

And so Nurtured Pelvic Health & Wellness was born.  You don’t have to navigate the physical and emotional impacts of being a Mom alone.

I invite you to book a free consultation below.
